To everyone's disbelief, it is now definite that Sydney can not have it. Googoosh's 23rd June concert in Sydney was cancelled only a week before the night of concert with a brief statements from its organizer, Kia entertainment with no reason provided. This is despite the continous daily advertisements in the Sydney's major commercial TV stations days after the official cancellation statement. Some Sydneysiders blame an unpopular Persian radio announcer in Sydney for the questions that he asked from Googoosh during a live interview a week before the cancellation date. During this interview the interviewer was obviously trying to direct the interview towards a strong polytical debate. Googoosh objected to the nature of the questions and insisted on her role as being "a singer, not someone who is trying to bring someone down, or pull someone up". This interview also created an anger among Googoosh's fans towards the interviewer and his 2-hour a week Persian program, who disregarded the star's value, charm and dignity that expands far beyond politics, kings and presidents.

A second chain of gossip relates concert cancellation to the sudden death of Princess Leila Pahlavi who suddenly died few days before the cancellation date.

While Googoosh fans are extremely disappointed in not seeing their beloved lady of hearts live in concert, they are equally worried about her safety and well-being.
